Recipe – Pumpkin Smoothie

Pumpkin smoothies are a tasty treat that work well as a satisfying snack or dessert all year round but especially in the Fall – the smell will remind you of Halloweens and Thanksgivings long past and add a festive flair as the leaves change color.

Fortunately, with a blender and the right amount of the right ingredients, they’re quite easy to make.

In this post, we’ll show you how to make a delicious pumpkin smoothie to help power you through your day (these smoothies are high in protein) or enjoy while kicking your feet up.

Will a Pumpkin Smoothie Fit My Diet?

The pumpkin smoothie is not only tasty but healthy. It fits well with the Keto diet as well as the Paleo diet. If you are on the Candida diet, you could try making one without a banana (as these are considered high-sugar fruits) – many have reported this works well.

If you are on a vegan diet, you can replace the yogurt and milk listed below with 1 cup (240 ml) of a nut milk such as almond milk or cashew milk.

Approximate Prep Time

You can have all the ingredients out and ready to go in about 5 minutes or less.

Approximate Blending Time

All you need to do here is blend the ingredients with a blender and, in general, it’ll only take 3-5 minutes to have your smoothie ready to go.

Required Equipment

The main piece of equipment you’ll need for this recipe is a powerful blender. You’ll also need a freezer for your banana.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) of Vanilla yogurt
  • 1/4 (1.2 ml) teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) Pumpkin Puree
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Milk
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Flaxseed (optional)
  • 3/4 teaspoon (3.7 ml) Honey (optional)

Serving Size

The ingredients above are enough for a single smoothie.

Directions

  • First off, make sure your banana is frozen – this is necessary for the smoothie to have a soft, creamy texture. 1/2 of a banana is enough for one smoothie, though you can use up to a whole banana if it seems like the right move. Cut up the banana into small pieces and throw them in the blender.
  • Next, add your 1/2 cup (120 ml) of vanilla yogurt. If you are feeling a bit more health-conscious, try Greek yogurt.
  • Throw in your cinnamon, pumpkin puree, and milk. You can also add flaxseed or honey, as desired.
  • Finally, turn the blender on! It should take between 3 and 5 minutes for your smoothie to be ready. You may have to stop and stir once or twice, so perform as needed.
  • That’s pretty much it! As we said, this recipe is quite simple. If you finish and find the smoothie is too thick, you can add a bit more milk.
  • If you would like extra toppings, granola, nuts, fruits, or bits of cereal work well. Feel free to experiment and bring your creativity to your new pumpkin smoothie.

We hope this pumpkin smoothie recipe has helped you create a delicious, healthy treat for yourself and/or family and friends!
