Despite the multitude of books and recipes on the Internet for smoothies making
your own is a relatively easy thing.

Home [smoothie](https://lifeandwork.blog/a-smoothie-primer/) blending gives you
total control of its ingredients, giving you complete customization of every aspect.
Incorporating vegetables such as spinach or kale and fruits such as figs or bananas
for an abundance of potassium, fiber, Vitamin C, and folate.

Be wary when purchasing smoothies from popular chains; many contain added sugars
and chemicals, which could add additional calories than expected!

## Flavor and Dietary Flexibility

As long as they do not contain too much-added sugar and calories, smoothies can
make an incredibly nutritious snack or meal option. Packed full of vitamins, minerals,
antioxidants from whole fruits as well as fiber, calcium (from milk or yogurt or
fortified plant-based beverages) and protein sources, smoothies provide the essential
nutritional components required.

Vegetables added to fruit-based smoothies will increase its nutritional content
while keeping you feeling full for longer. Green smoothies in particular can be
particularly helpful, providing iron, vitamin C, and folate.

[Smoothie](https://lifeandwork.blog/a-smoothie-primer/) makers allow you and your
staff to craft drinks using various ingredients and flavors, providing customers
with more options when creating drinks for themselves or in-store consumption. A
splash of apple cider vinegar or spirulina added to green smoothies balances their
sweetness and gives an earthy note many customers appreciate; adding honey or another
natural sweetener such as Stevia may help cover up bitter vegetables such as kale
and spinach; you may need to experiment with various combinations of liquids until
finding what suits the consistency of your drink best!

## Cool and Refreshing

Smoothies can be an easy, nutritious way to cool off on hot summer days and quench
thirst. Containing multiple food groups, smoothies are an easy way to increase fruit
and vegetable consumption daily and reach the daily recommended allowance for fruits
and veggies.

These summer flavors pack an explosion of taste! Take a tasteful vacation to paradise
with mango and pineapple, or get your energy back with an antioxidant-packed berry
blast.

The Green Goddess Smoothie is an irresistibly tasty combination of lush greens and
creamy indulgence that packs a powerful nutritional punch containing vitamins C,
iron, and fiber.

## Easy to Make

Smoothies can be an effective and delicious way to add more fruits and vegetables
into your diet, as well as being quick, convenient snacks. Unfortunately, purchasing
smoothies from stores or [smoothie](https://lifeandwork.blog/a-smoothie-primer/)
shops can be pricey; moreover, they often contain added sugar or unhealthy ingredients
that could negatively impact health. Making smoothies yourself may be more economical
and healthier option.

Home-blender smoothies allow you to customize what combination of fruits, vegetables,
and other ingredients you use based on what meets your specific tastes and needs.
For an added protein boost, consider including some whole grains or nut butter to
increase satiation.

Fruit smoothies are naturally low-cal and packed with essential nutrients. Be careful
when adding extra calorie-rich foods such as nuts, granola, or ice cream as this
could add up quickly – equivalent to that found in one McDonald’s hamburger! For
maximum results use ratios of liquid, fruit, and vegetables for best results.

## Kids Love Them

Smoothies can be an engaging way to engage children in healthy eating habits and
explore fruits and vegetables they may otherwise have avoided. They’re a fun way
to introduce kids to new fruits and veggies they might otherwise shy away from trying!

Smoothies make an excellent snack for kids on the go and provide essential nutrition
after an active sports event or school day. Made of fresh or frozen fruit combined
with liquid (such as water, milk, juice or yogurt) or adding additional proteins
such as peanut butter could add an extra protein punch.

Smoothies can become a fun family tradition and a wonderful bonding time, as well
as teach children about the health benefits of various foods and ingredients. Blending
in leafy greens like spinach or kale provides additional nutrition to support hair
and skin health, build immunity, reduce cravings, and promote better sleep.
