Irish Cream’s history begins in 1974, when one man set out to create a drink that combined whiskey and milk flavors. He mixed Irish whiskey with premium dairy cream from Dairy Farm International Ltd (now Baileys Original Irish Cream). As soon as its creation hit shelves it quickly became one of the most beloved cream liqueurs around.
Creamy in texture, this liqueur also boasts rich vanilla and chocolate flavors for an enjoyable combination. Ideal for coffee, cocktails and desserts alike – drink straight up or mix it with ice for a refreshingly smooth treat – Flat White Martinis are an easy and delicious treat; creating new cocktails with it would only enhance the experience further!
Here is a simple homemade version of my wife’s favorite drink, Irish Cream.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 10oz sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup Irish Whiskey
- 3 tbsp chocolate syrup
- 1 teaspoon espresso coffee or instant coffee
Directions
- Blend all ingredients in a blender and place in the refrigerator to chill.
